Dear amazing grace,
I have been devoted to HA for 15 yrs and still am. I have encouraged countless people to follow this diet.
I do want to encourage your husband to consider going to Hippocrates Health Institute in west palm beach, fl. (I think beanybeegan already suggested this...i'm seconding it.) I just returned from the 3 week Life Change Program and I recommend it highly. There were many people there in similar situations. I was very happy to hear Brian Clement (runs the place) comment during a lecture that he respected Dr Malkmus very much. We do all need to work together.

My heart goes out to your family and I will pray for you.
Sharon

Howdy! I am Tracy. I am lol - I just had an image of a 12-step introduction in front of a small crowd... :) I am in my mid-40's, married, mom to 7 kids ranging in ages from 7 to almost 27, and grandmother to 2 wonderful sweetiepies. I am a stay-at-home, homeschooling mom to my youngest 4. I've had some tough health issues to deal with over the past 7 years, starting with my son's diagnosis of cancer in his spinal cord. They said he was probably born with it... He had surgery, went through chemo, and PRAISE and GLORY to GOD he is healed now. Very little after-effects over the past 5 years! Unfortunately, my own health went into the toilet at that point. I had to have a hysterectomy, at which point the fibromyalgia that had been fairly tame blew up. I also had arthritis issues to deal with, then had a hernia develop that had to be repaired (from they hysterectomy surgery, of course!) The fibro pain and arthritis issues got much worse after that. Last year I was in 2 car accidents - one where I was driving, which twisted my neck and spine and caused the fibro to go insane; and the other where I was the passenger. I only broke about 4 ribs in that one. In between the two accidents, two of the lower discs in my back herniated. Did I mention the depression that all of these issues caused??? Yeah, I was a real joy to be around then!!!

On New Year's Eve, I felt prompted by the Holy Spirit to sit down and review the past year in writing. As I did so, I was able to recall each time how His presence was so real through it all, how I was never alone, and how I KNEW that things were only going to get better now. I experienced a tremendous break from all of that pain, for which I have been extremely grateful! I have prayed about the "why" of it all, and the message has come back clearly to me that I simply MUST change what I am eating or that pain will remain with me for the rest of my life. So, after much seeking and searching, and a HA-based class at church, here I am!!!

My husband and I are both overweight and take several meds to control blood pressure, and we want to get healthy. He has agreed to work with me to the best of his ability, and I am diving in whole heartedly! I love raw veggies, have never been much for fruit, but I am willing to change that. I am so excited to find this forum, as it seems I have a new question every 5 minutes or so. I want to thank you in advance for the help I know I will get. I am even wondering if the future might hold some nutritional counseling training for me? We will see! I don't know what the future holds, but I truly know Who holds the future :)

Blessings!
-Tracy

I think I have said this before, but we are glad you are here. It is so great to be getting 'newbies' all the time. You have such a great testimony already.

I too jumped in wholeheartedly last year when I jumped!! And everyday I learn something. We do know who holds the future don't we. ;)

Blessings

Dear Sharon,
Thank you for your encouragement. I told Hiro and his initial reaction was that he wants to stay home and treat himself. He wants to continue his ministry work and be around his family and friends. Can you please tell me what the Hippocrates Health Institute can give him that we can't give him here in Japan?

Your prayers and support are very much appreciated. :) Thank you!

In His Love and Amazing Grace

Amazing Grace, I was just looking around online, and here is the URL for Hippocrates Health Institute: http://www.hippocratesinst.org I would take a look around there, maybe contact them with your situation (and location!) and see if they can still be of help. Your husband sounds like a jewel. Praying for you both!

Thank you BB for thinkin' of us! :D I have been adding fresh bamboo root to Hiro's juice, which is suppose to be high in B17. After Hiro's second week on the HA, I am planning to start adding B17 Japanese plum seed powder to his juice. A little at first and then increase the dosage. I am even considering injections of B17 into his veins with a doctor friend's help, but we will see. Maybe bitter almond seed powder would be even better, although the tree has been banned in the USA :?: Please pray for God to give us wisdom and direction about this. Thanks again for your consideration! :D

PS I have a positive news to share! :D (I will write it on my thread "Recovery Diet for stage 4 Colon Cancer".)
